SELF PROCLAIMED ANTI-CASTE WARRIORS,  WHO ARE ACTUALLY THE BIGGEST CASTEISTS THEMSELVES , LOVE SCAPEGOATING THE BRAHMIN COMMUNITY FOR ALL OF INDIA’S SOCIETAL PROBLEMS.  THEY CLAIM THAT ‘BRAHMANISM’ IS THE REASON WHY CASTE DESCRIMINATION STILL TAKES PLACE IN INDIA .

MYTH 1: CASTE SYSTEM IS A UNIQUE CREATION OF THE BRAHMINS

The word ‘caste’ itself is derived from the Spanish and Portuguese word casta, an Iberian word meaning lineage, breed or race. Casta gave rise to the English word caste during the Early Modern Period.

The concept of Limpieza de sangre or purity of blood developed in medieval Spain after it’s reconquest (Reconquista) by the Christian kingdoms from the Moslem Caliphates. Limpieza de sangre was used to classify the various types of Christians. For instance, Christians were classified as Old Christians (ones without Muslim or Jewish ancestry). Converts from Judaism were referred to as conversos or pejoratively as marranos while converts from Islam were known as moriscos. The state instituted discriminatory laws against converts, obtaining a ban on conversos and their descendants from most official positions. The discrimination was still present into the 20th century in some places like Majorca. No Xueta (descendants of the Majorcan conversos) priests were allowed to say Mass in a cathedral until the 1960s.

The Spanish conquered South America and developed a complex system of racial hierarchy, known as the sistema de castas. Here, racial categories were formal legal classifications. In this hierarchy, white Europeans were at the top of the hierarchy while the indigenous natives and blacks (who were derogatorily referred to as negroes) were at the bottom.

A deep study of social hierarchical systems makes one realise that caste is nothing but a hierarchy of social groups. In short, the caste system was in fact not limited just to India but was prevalent in every great civilizational in the world- Greece, China, Japan, Persia, Egypt, Aztecs etc, with each place having it’s own system of hierarchy. This confutes the theory that caste is a unique invention of the Brahmins.

MYTH 2: BRAHMINS ARE THE BIGGEST OPPRESSORS OF THE LOWER CASTES

This is undoubtedly one of the most common allegations against Brahmins. This opinion has been mainstreamed in intellectual discourse so much that even ordinary Brahmins do not attempt to debunk it. Let us analyse check out the population statistics of various caste groups in India;

3

The data shows that Brahmins make up just 5% of India’s total population. Non-Brahmin upper castes make up approximately 18% of India’s population while OBCs (Other Backward Castes) make up the bulk of India’s population (32%).Now let us look at the overall Hindu caste composition;

4

As the data clearly shows, the Brahmin population percentage does not increase much even if you only consider the overall Hindu population. Here the share of OBCs rises to 40% as opposed to the share of Brahmin population which only remains at 6%.In short, Brahmins are a minority in India. There is absolutely no evidence at that all that caste discrimination would cease to exist if there were no Brahmins.

MYTH 3: BRAHMINS MAY BE A MINORITY BUT OTHER CASTES PRACTICE CASTEISM DUE TO ‘BRAHMANICAL INFLUENCE

First of all, no Brahmin can ever ‘influence’ a non-Brahmin to discriminate against another person. Any suggestion that non-Brahmin castes practice casteism against one another because ‘Brahmins created caste’ is nothing less than a puerile argument.Casteism is practiced by one and all- It is even practiced by powerful Dalit castes against weaker Dalit castes! In Maharashtra, Mahars discriminated against Mangs. In Uttar Pradesh, Balmikis and Pasis often refuse to back the Bahujan Samaj Party because it is filled with Jatavs. In Punjab, Dalit Sikhs often refuse to intermarry with Ravidasias, Hindu Raigars and Joatia Chamars. In Bihar, Dusadhs and Musahars are often at loggerheads.

The Brahmanophobic narrative that Brahmins are responsible for all casteism in India is untenable.Casteism is widespread even amongst Indian Christians. The caste system is rigorously followed by Catholics in Goan villages- This was because the Portuguese had no aims of abolishing it and instead encouraged it to attract upper caste converts from Hinduism. The Portuguese considered lower castes ‘unworthy’ of becoming true Christians and specifically targeted richer people belonging to the higher castes. Hence, churches were segregated on the basis of caste and there were laws that debarred lower castes from entering particular churches even a few decades ago.Inter caste marriage amongst Christians is not common. For example, Syrian Christians in Kerala do not marry Dalit Christians. Intermarriage between Bamons and Sudras in Goa is unheard of. Sometimes marriage to a higher class Hindu is preferred to marriage to a Dalit Christian.

Dalit Christians are often denied the right to become pastors or priests of their church. Recently, the church for the first time ever, admitted to rampant caste discrimination in the church.Indian Muslims also practice casteism. Indian Muslims are classified between the foreign conquerors (Ashrafs) and the local converts (Ajlafs). Aljafs and Dalit Muslims in particular have often complained of caste discrimination from Ashrafs. There are several areas where different mosques and graveyards exist for Aljafs especially Dalit Muslims.Casteism is rampant among the Sikhs in Punjab. Monopolization if Silh politics by the Jatts has caused massive resentment amongst Dalit Sikhs and other minority groups. Jatt culture is extolled and glorified to the detriment of the cultures of the other communities. This is evident in Punjabi entertainment where Jatts even sing songs about their ‘Jattness’. Many Dalits have even left Sikhism and have joined the newly formed Ravidasia religion because of their grievances. Several others have created their own Deras.Unless anti-caste warriors such as are able to prove that Brahmins can perform black magic & ‘force’ non-Brahmin groups to practice casteism against each other, this allegation too can be dismissed.

MYTH 4: INDIA IS A BRAHMANICAL PROJECT.

Here is a 1931 map which shows the castes that hold the highest land in India;

8

The map shows that ‘backward castes’ such as Jats, Ahirs, Vanniyars (Mudaliors), Kapus, Marathas, Kunbis, Kurmis etc hold the most land in India. Many of the OBCs are landowning, politically powerful & dominant castes who have merely been categorised as ‘backward castes’ for political reasons.According to a study, 75% of domestic cooks and help are Brahmins. In the 5 to 18 year age group, 44 per cent Brahmin students stopped education at the primary level and 36 per cent at the pre-matriculation level. 55 per cent of all Brahmins lived below the poverty line - below a per capita income of Rs 650 a month. The percentage of destitute Brahmins was found to be 10 per cent higher than the all-India figure. Several other reports about Brahmin hardship have emerged across the county. Some Brahmanical project indeed!Over 400,000 Kashmiri Pandits have been living in refugee camps in Jammu and Delhi after having been forced to leave Kashmir due to threats by Mujahideens. While our liberals shed tears for Rohingyas in Myanmar, they remain blind to the plight of the Pandits.Anti-Brahmin bigotry is widespread especially in the state of Tamil Nadu due to the spread of Periyar’s ideology.

A spate of vile attacks on the Brahmin community resulted in an exodus of Brahmins from Tamil Nadu to cities such as Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. Tamil Brahmins are blamed for many of the state’s problems. The Tamil film industry repeatedly stereotypes Brahmins as either villains or idiots. Even violence committed by politically powerful, landowning & dominant castes such as the Thevars & Mudaliars is blamed on Brahmanism.Atleast OBCs/SCs/STs/minorities are regarded as influential and powerful votebanks by political parties and hence avail of benefits such as reservations but Brahmins, however poor they may be, get nothing but abuses from the so called anti-caste warriors, who either deny or conveniently ignore these facts.When someone accuses Jews of holding all the power in the west, he is called a white supremacist/Neo-Nazi. When someone accuses Brahmins of holding all the power in India, he is called a liberal/progressive!

MYTH 5: BRAHMANICAL CASTE SYSTEM IS APARTHEID

(There is no such thing called Brahmanical cast system. Hindu dharma says only Varan based on nature of ones character and not by birth)

9

(compared to white racist supremacy Indian varna is least inhuman practiced by cast hindus and not by brahmins is the fact )

10

(white christians are enjoying hanging black slaves in a tree, a cango black kept in a zoo cage for public viewing in UK )

Let us use famous examples from history to debunk this ludicrous myth;Chanakya, a Brahmin, helped Chandragupta Maurya, a Shudra, form the Maurya Empire.Harihara & Bukka, who were Kurubas (shephard community), were reconverted to Hinduism after their brief forced conversion to Islam by the Sultan of Delhi- Muhammad Tughlaq by the Brahmin sage Vidyaranya who was the head priest of the Sringeri Monastery. Vidyaranya helped the brothers establish the Vijaynagara empire inorder to ward off the Islamic invasions of South India and protect Hinduism. The great emperor Krishnadevaraya too belonged to the Kuruba community.

The lower caste Vijaynagara rulers adopted the title- ‘Protectors of Brahmins & Cows’.Bhils & Meenas formed a key component of Rajput armies over the years. Suheldev, a Pasi king, attained fame due to his role in the Battle of Bahraich where the Rajput confederacy of Raja Bhoja annihilated the invading Ghaznavid army of Salar Masud. After the defeat at Haldighati, Bhil Adivasis helped the great Maharana Pratap of Mewar was helped in his guerrilla war against the Mughals while many of his own family members deserted him due to fear of offending Akbar. The Mewar coat of arms features a Bhil along with a Rajput- A tribute to the Bhil warrior who fought, killed and died for the Rajputana.Mahars featured prominently in the Maratha armies since the time of Shivaji Maharaj himself. The Marathas had several great generals such as the Holkars and Scindias who were of lower caste origin. They were given autonomy to rule over Indore and Gwalior by the Brahmin Peshwa Madhavrao. Madhavrao, who is considered one of the greatest Peshwa rulers, abolished Veth (forced labour) thus managing to liberate poor, lower caste people from bonded labour.

The Peshwas made several land grants to lower caste people including Dalits.Several other Indian dynasties over the ages (Nandas, Mauryas, Aulikaras, Kadambas, Chalukyas, Kakatiyas, Gonds, Bhils, Jats etc) were of lower caste origin. The rulers belonging to these dynasties were actively aided by Brahmin ministers and sages, who were in turn richly patronized by them. Many of these dynasties, (for eg. Reddy dynasty) were proud of their Shudra origins and even proudly described themselves as having ‘emerged from the Lotus Feet of the Lord.’If the Brahmanical caste system was truly a form of ‘apartheid’, Shudras & Dalits would never have been able to rise up and achieve great heights- Something that anti-caste warriors will never accept as it completely contravenes their agenda of furthering ‘atrocity literature’.

Myth 6: Brahmins were apathetic to the plight of the downtrodden

During the medieval ages, Islamic rule was being established across India and Hinduism was in danger of extermination due to conversions by the Muhammadans. During this age, several Brahmin sages such as Ramanuja in Tamil Nadu, Jayadeva in Odisha, Basava, Akka Mahadevi, Allama Prabhu, Vidyaranya, Kanaka Das in Karnataka, Chaitanya, Ramanand, Tulsidas, Surdas in modern-day Uttar Pradesh, Narsinha Mehta & Vallabhacharya in Gujarat, Jnaneshwar, Nimbarka, Eknath, Samarth Ramdas in Maharashtra emerged to save Hinduism.The movement spearheaded by these saints is today known as the Bhakti movement. It sought to present the ideas of the ancient scriptures of the Hindus by simplifying & recontextualizing them so that they could be presented to the masses who were not intellectually advanced enough to understand these ideas. While the Bhakti movement included several lower caste saints like Namdev, Ravidas, Tukaram, Chokhamela etc, a bulk of the Bhakti saints were Brahmins- A fact that anti-caste warriors can never truly appreciate.

MYTH 7: BHAKTI MOVEMENT SAINTS REJECTED ‘BRAHMANISM & CASTE

1

While they opposed caste based on birth and the repulsive practice of untouchability, the Bhakti saints were not against the concept of varnashrama (caste by qualities) itself. In fact, they repeatedly taught the true meanings of the varnas and advocated the same- For eg. One who realises Brahman is a Brahmin….One who serves the other three castes is a Shudra etc.There is a difference between ‘rejection of birth based caste system’ & ‘rejection of varna’ itself- Something that anti-caste warriors are either too dumb to understand or too dishonest to accept.The Bhakti saints never rejected the Brahmanical scriptures-

They only stressed that Bhakti (devotion) to Hari (God) was the main requirement to attain salvation and that even an illiterate person who had no understanding of the Brahmanical scriptures could attain it with mere Bhakti. The Bhakti saints stated that salvation could be attained by anyone regardless of caste, colour, wealth or gender.Sanskrit, the language of the scriptures, was discarded and local languages prevalent in the area were used to compose hymns and poems in praise of God so that they could be understood by the masses who had little to no knowledge of Sanskrit. The Bhakti saints advocated social reform and condemned many of the practices that were prevalent in those days, claiming that these practices had no religious sanction at all.Far from rejecting the Brahmanical scriptures, the Bhakti saints claimed that they wanted to teach the ‘true meaning’ of the scriptures.

MYTH 8: HINDUISM GOOD BUT BRAHMANISM BAD

This narrative is not used by social justice warriors (who are pretty open about their revulsion for Hinduism). It is used by vexatious, pontificating, virtue signalling people who call themselves ‘Hindu liberals’.Before I make my point, let me go into the encyclopaedia definition of ‘Brahmanism’;Brahmanism is an ideology and a way of life, originating from the history of the Vedas, often called a philosophy, practised on the basis of specific inferred beliefs.The Ultimate Reality in Hinduism is known as Brahman. Thus, it can be said that Brahmanism is merely the religion of the worshippers of Brahman and not the ‘religion of Brahmins’ as many dimwits claim.The word ‘Brahmanism’ has acquired negative connotations associated with the Brahmin caste rather than with the Ultimate Reality Brahman, thanks to anti-caste warriors that it has become a despised word and is frequently used derogatorily by vicious Hindu baiters & even by naive Hindu liberals.Technically, every single follower of Brahman, is a follower of the Brahmanical religion or Brahmanism- Something that Hindu liberal dolts are completely ignorant about.

MYTH 9: BUDDHISM AND SIKHISM WERE REVOLTS AGAINST BRAHMANISM

This is a recurring part of the anti-Brahmin (and also indirectly anti-Hindu) narrative of the anti-caste warriors- especially by Marxists, Neo-Buddhists and Neo-Sikhs.I describe a Neo-Buddhist & a Neo-Sikh as one who tries to follow a ‘SJW version’ of their religion combined with some Protestant influences. Even a huge number of ordinary Buddhists & Sikhs who have no interest in politics, believe in this myth thanks to the efforts of these propagandists. This is not true at all.There are innumerable references to the four varnas in the Buddhist Sutras. The term Brahmin appears several times in the Pali Cannon. Digha Nikaya, the first of the five Nikayas, features an entire conversation between the Buddha and a Brahmin named Sonananda on the topic of caste (varna).In Agganna Sutta (27th Sutta in Digha Nikaya), Buddha even goes on to describe Shudras as people who lead ‘mean and cruel lives’.

The five attributes of Brahmins are described in Majjhima Nikaya;The Truth (Sacca or Satya)Austerities (Tapas)Chastity (Brahmacariya)Study of Vedic lore (Ajjhena or Adhyayana)Munificence (Caga or Tyaga)In the Buddhist Vinayaka Pitaka of the Mahavagga (I.245), the Buddha even claims that the Veda in its true form was declared to the Vedic rishis “Atthako, Vâmako, Vamadevo, Vessamito, Yamataggi, Angiraso, Bharadvajo, Vasettho, Kassapo, and Bhagu”. Vinaya Pitaka’s section Anguttara Nikaya: Panchaka Nipata states that because that true Veda was altered by some priests, the Buddha would not pay homage to altered version.

This is hardly a rejection of the primacy of the Veda itself.In Samyutta Nikaya 111, Majjhima Nikaya 92 and Vinaya i246 of the Pali Cannon, the Buddha called the Agnihotra as ‘the foremost sacrifice’ and the Gayatri mantra as ‘the foremost meter’.The Buddha is in fact even described as a ‘true Brahmin’ in some of the Buddhist texts. The future Buddha- Maitreya, is also described as one who will be born in a Brahmin family. Almost all of Buddha’s disciples were upper caste Brahmins & Kshatriyas. Buddha in the Jataka tales even described himself as Rama in his past life- The very same Rama who Neo-Buddhists abuse every single day!

Neo-Sikhs too claim that Sikhism was created by Guru Nanak as a revolt against the caste system invented by the evil Brahmins. This argument too is unsustainable due to the several mentions of varna in Sikh scriptures such as the Adi Granth, Dasam Granth & Vaaran Bhai Gurdas. The true meaning & role of each varna is repeatedly stated in the texts.Here are just a few examples of this usage from the Adi Granth;

There are four castes: Brahmin, Kshatriya, Soodra and Vaisya, and there are four stages of life.

The Shabad is heroic bravery for the Kshatriya; the Shabad is service to others for the Soodra.

The Soodra and the Vaisha work and slave for others.

He alone is a Kshatriya, who is a hero in good deeds.

He alone is a Brahmin, who knows God.

As one can see, there is hardly any repudiation of the concept of varnashrama in the Adi Granth. Far from rejecting varna, the Sikh Gurus and the Sikh Bhagats only affirm that one’s caste (varna) is ascertained from the qualities that one possesses, one’s conduct as well as the duties that one performs and not by one’s birth. Such a view is hardly incompatible with the view of the ancient Hindu scriptures such as the Bhagavad Gita which also state that the same.The Sikh Gurus & Bhagats, like the Buddha, criticize only the distortion of varna and the perversion of the ancient caste system rather than the concept of varna itself.Another popular claim made is that the Sikh Gurus rejected the Brahmanical Vedas. Let us have a look;

Listening-the Shaastras, the Simritees and the Vedas.Nanak, the devotees are forever in bliss.

This is the blessing of studying the Vedas and the Puraanas, that you may meditate on the Name of the Lord.

When the lamp is lit, the darkness is dispelled;reading the Vedas, sinful intellect is destroyed.

Ongkaar created the Vedas.

The above verses feature in the Adi Granth. Far from rejecting the Brahmanical Vedas, the Gurus praise the Vedas & even affirm that they were in fact creations of the eternal formless God who they referred to as Ram/Hari/Ongkar.The Gurus and the Bhagats merely opposed mindless recitations of the Vedas without understanding the true essence of the texts as well as the practice of reading the Vedas without any devotion to God. This is evident in the following verses;

He listens to the teachings of the Vedas, the Puraanas and the Simritees, but he does not enshrine them in his heart, even for an instant.Engrossed in the wealth and women of others, his life passes away uselessly.

He is a true Pandit, a religious scholar, who instructs his own mind.

He understands the fundamental essence of the Vedas, the Puraanas and the Simritees.

He finds fault with the Vedas and the Shaastras, and does not know the essence of Yoga.

He knows nothing of the Vedas or the Shaastras; his mind is gripped by pride.

The Gurmukh is pleasing to the True Guru; this is contemplation on the Vedas.

These verses prove that neither the Veda nor the Brahmin nor the Pandit himself is derided. Only hypocritical Brahmins and Pandits are criticized but true Brahmins and Pandits are praised. As evident in the verses above, one who finds fault in the Veda is even lampooned by the Gurus!Even in the Bhagavad Gita, there are verses where the importance of the Veda is downplayed- This hardly makes the Gita an ‘anti-Brahmanical’ text.As I stated earlier, the very definition of Brahmanism has been warped by these anti-caste warriors to present it as a Brahmin supremacist ideology. If one applies the true definition of Brahmanism, then it is clear that neither the Buddha nor the Sikh Gurus were opponents of Brahmanism per se.

MYTH 10: SHIVAJI WAS SECULAR, PRO-MUSLIM AND ANTI-BRAHMIN

                                            2

3

This gibberish is promoted by the fringe self proclaimed extremist self proclaimed pro-Maratha outfit called ‘Sambhaji Brigade’ as well as by other fanatical anti-Brahmin ‘Mulnivasi’ organisations aligned to it. The groups attempt to appropriate the legacy of the great Shivaji Maharaj & his son Sambhaji Maharaj intending to revise history and intending to portray him as anti-Brahmin & pro-Muslim. This opinion is laughable and as preposterous as the attempt by some liberals to portray Tipu Sultan as a ‘tolerant and pluralistic king’.Even a brief reading of a few primary sources will prove beyond doubt that far from being some proponent of ‘Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb’, Shivaji was a proud Hindu and was fully committed to the cause of Hinduism. Shivaji made his views on Hindavi Swarajya (Hindu self rule) evident at the age of 14 in a letter to Dadaji Naras Prabhu. At Raireshwar, a young Shivaji and his Maval friends took at oath to establish Hindupad Padshahi and free their lands from the ‘wicked Yavanas’ who break their temples and defile their women’ at will. The Brahmin administrator Dadoji Konddev oversaw the training of a young Shivaji and is universally regarded as the teacher of Shivaji- Something that infuriates anti-Brahmin groups. Upon his coronation, Shivaji assumed the title of ‘Gaubrahmana Pratipalak’ (Protector of Brahmins & Cows). Prominent Brahmins from across India attended Shivaji’s coronation ceremony at Raigad.

 The great Brahmin saint Samarth Ramdas hugely influenced Shivaji in his latter life. He composed Shivastuti in praise of Shivaji after his famous triumph over the Mughals at the battle of Salher. Shivaji even gifted the fort of Sajjangad to Ramdas. The Brahmin poet Kavi Kalash too praised Shivaji for saving Hindu Dharma from total annihilation. He commented;Had not there been Shivaji, Kashi would have lost its culture, Mathura would have been turned into a mosque, all would be circumcised.Sambhaji Brigade and the so called Mulnivasi organisations have stated that Shivaji and Sambhaji were pro-Muslim.The fact that Shivaji had several Muslim soldiers & also protected mosques and Muslims under his kingdom is commonly used by leftists to portray Shivaji as Muslim friendly. Such an argument is untenable. Shivaji could have treated the average Muhammadan under his reign well but this does not make him a ‘pro-Muslim’ ruler. Shivaji may merely have separated ideologies from people while dealing with them.I shall demolish this riff raff by using a few excerpts from Shivaji’s letter to Mirza Jai Singh, the ruler of Amber (present day Jaipur);

Thou desirest in this world to make thy face glow with blood drawn from the hearts and the eyes of the Hindus.Thou hast in fact come to conquer at the instance of Aurangzeb and under the instigation of those who desire to destroy the Hindus.If I lift up the sword and the axe, then the Hindus on both sides will suffer.The greater sorrow is that my sword, which thirsts’for the blood of the Mussalmans, should be drawn from the scabbard for some other purpose.If the Turks had come to fight this battle, then indeed the prey would have come to the lion in its lair,For, they are Rakshasas in the guise of men devoid of justice ang religion, and sinfulHe (Aurangzeb) desires that no strong persons should be left surviving among the Hindus in this world,Then do thou attack those who are the enemies of religion and abolish Islam root and branch.This is not the time for fighting between ourselves since a grave danger faces the Hindus.Our children, our country, our wealth, our God, our temples and our holy worshippers,Are all in danger of existenceThe most strenuous efforts should be made at this time to protect Hindus, Hindusthan find the Hindu Religion.I may in the meantime with the aid of these and other lanoe bearing heroes make away with the other two Sultans (of Bijapur and Golkonda);So that I may rain the shower of swords from the thundering clouds of my army on the Mussalmans;So that, from one end of the Deccan to the other, I may wipe out the name and very vestige of Mahomedanism
In the letter, the so called ‘pro-Muslim’ Shivaji claimed that his sword bayed for the blood of the Muhammadans.

 Shivaji very candidly stated he intended to wipe out Islam from the Deccan. The letter is very clear- Shivaji was no secularist as he has been portrayed by agenda driven revisionists. Far from being ‘pro-Muslim’, he considered the Muhammadan as an enemy of his religion.Several primary sources by European travellers even go on to claim that Shivaji ordered the slaughtering of pigs inside mosques as a form of retaliation against the desecration of temples by the Mughals and the Deccan Sultanates. After all, Shivaji’s first revolt against the Bijapur Sultanate took place to avenge the desecration of the Vithoba temple in Pandharpur & the Tulja Bhavani temple in Tuljapur while the destruction of Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi angered Shivaji and his mother Jijabai, forcing him to end his peace with the Mughals and declare war again.

Shivaji even destroyed a few mosques built on ancient Hindu sites and rebuilt temples on these sites. The execution of Catholic padres in Goa by Shivaji for carrying out forced conversions of the Hindus, is just another example that proves his commitment to Hinduism.After Shivaji died, Samarth Ramdas inspired a rash Sambhaji to abandon his vices and to follow his father and fight for Hinduism. Soon after this Ramdas passed away. Inspired by the words of Samarth Ramdas, Sambhaji launched an epic Dharm-Yudh against the Mughals for a period of 9 years. Aurangzeb himself arrived in the Deccan to subjugate the Marathas and the Deccan Sultanates. While Aurangzeb managed to conquer the Sultanates, he failed to defeat the Marathas. Sambhaji fought valiantly for years but was finally captured after a skirmish at Sangameshwar due to the treachery of his relative (Shirke)- Something that the Sambhaji Brigade does not want to admit. After being captured, Sambhaji was sentenced to death for the ‘atrocities his troops perpetrated against Muslims in Burhanpur, including plunder, killing, rape, and torture’.According to a few accounts, Sambhaji insulted both the emperor and the Islamic prophet Muhammad during interrogation, thus sealing his fate.Sambhaji and his Brahmin friend Kavi Kalash died together for Hinduism after spurning the chance to convert to Islam- A fact that is extremely agonizing for Sambhaji Brigade ‘intellectuals’ to accept!Not just every proud Hindu but every proud Maratha too should actively oppose the Brahminphobic propaganda regarding Shivaji and Sambhaji that is being circulated by these extremist groups and the reduction of these great Hindu rulers to mere ‘Maratha icons’.
